THE BOLUND LAB

We want to understand the evolution of life history traits and behaviour in organisms with two sexes. To do this, our current research can be broadly divided into three questions:

1. How and why do different life histories evolve?

2. What are the genetic underpinnings of life history and behavioural traits, and how does this genetic basis of complex traits interact with the environment and change over time?

3. How do sexual selection and sexual conflict shape the evolution of organisms?

We use a variety of methods to address these questions using three model organisms: the nematode Caenorhabditis remanei, the seed beetle Callosobruchus maculatus and Humans.
